"I am a fiber/textile artist, teacher and manager of my own textile business, Jeanne Anthony Design. I studied textiles, fashion and painting at the Art Institute of Chicago where I received my BFA. I went from the construction of conventional garments for everyday wear, to"wearable art." to the fine art of painting my designs on paper. In addition to creating and showing my own work. I've held workshops for adults and students. My work has been shown and sold at several places.(List below) In 1990 I was selected a MED manufacture of the year for Chicago.
"The study of textile teaches us that natural fibers play a very important role in man's life from the very beginning. Used as clothing, furniture, shelter, embellishment of body and objects of art and as a way of expressing himself. He used natural fibers from plants, animals, and later made synthetic fibers. At Jeanne'Anthony Designs, it is my intention to expose a large public audience to the visual art experience. My aim is to introduce a color vocabulary that allows one to feel that nature has been imitated gracefully. When a person wears a Jeanne, they turn a 2-D form into a 3-D one."
"The choice of wearable art as a medium allows my work to be viewed internationally without barriers. My work has been on display on every continent, and too many countries to name at this time. My clients have brought back numerous stories about their Jeanne experience during their travels.Hopefully, when a person meets someone wearing a Jeanne'they will momentarily experience art whether it is positive, or not. To me that keeps the creative light burning."
