My name is Dustin Schmidt and I reside in Lethbridge, AB, Canada. I have a two year diploma in Photography from Stratford Career Institue 2002, and I have gained six years of experience. In 2002, I decided to explore batik as a medium to express my artwork. I now have four years experience as a batik artist and combine my skills both as a photographer and as a batik artist to create unique personalized batik portraits.

The time and care that goes into each piece is reflected in the completed portrait. These portraits are timeless as they are able to be passed down from generation to generation in your family. Your images will be captured forever.

I am an emerging artist of twenty-five years of age and have a family of my own. I have a beautiful wife of eight years and have two extrodinary children. I enjoy reading, creating music, creating custom art and spending time with my family.

The tools that I use are from Dharma Trading Co. and they have been in use for four years now and they are still my prized tools I use the better tjantings : #1 = 1 mm #2 = 1.5 mm #3 = 2 mm. I also use the eye dropper to hand mix all of my dyes.
