ARTIST BIOGRAPHY Muffy Clark Gill is a fine artist who expresses herself in many art media. Her most famous paintings utilize the ancient Indonesian wax and dye resist process art process known as Batik, or," wax writing''. Recently, Muffy's Batik painting, "After the Storm", was purchased by the County of Volusia, Florida Courthouse as part of their Art in Public Places Program. She has been featured on WGCU Public Media's s "Expressions" TV program and in their member supported magazine, demonstrating Batik painting. Muffy has won numerous awards over the past 15years in local and national art shows and festivals. "Everglades Encounter", a painting of Deaconess Harriet Bedell, was chosen as one of the Top 100 paintings that toured this country as part of the 1997 National Arts For the Parks competition. Presently she is a board member of Florida Craftsmen, a statewide non-profit organization, and former Secretary for the United Arts Council of Collier County. She also works with the United Way of Collier County, and has served on the board of the Shelter for Abused Women and Children. Artistic memberships include Southwest Florida Craft Guild, Naples Art Association, Naples Artcrafters, and the Art League of Marco Island. Muffy and her husband, Warren love to travel, collect Rum, play steel drums, and raise tropical fruit and plants on their two acre farm in the city of Naples, Florida.
