Hello! My name is Cindy Darling. I've spent most of the last twenty years working as a costume technician in theatres around the Buffalo area - including Broadway tours such as Peter Pan and Jesus Christ Superstar - and most recently am designing for LehrerDance, a new company in Buffalo, NY, founded by internationally known dancer Jon Lehrer.

I find dance very exciting to design for - creating costumes that need to support the choreographer's vision, look good in theatrical lighting, AND are able to be danced in quite athletically (not to mention washed easily on tour!), makes for a truly inspiring atmosphere.

I designed these for a piece called "A Ritual Dynamic". I wanted washes of 'aurora borealis' type color on black, and found just what I was looking for in Lumiere. I love it! I've used regular Jaquards in another piece as well, but was so excited about the effect of the metallics on black that I just had to write. I'm also using some of your dresses as a base for a piece in the April tour. Great to have you there!
