It was 1999 in Florence, Italy, when I discovered silk painting. Unaware of such technique, and witnessing all of its possibilities, it immediately captured my attention and I enrolled at the Florence Art Institute.

Ever since practicing and improving the method, I am constantly finding many applications of this fascinating art form. Every endeavor is a surprise, not knowing exactly the outcome until completed makes this kind of work intriguing and exciting. I usually work in intensively in collection sets once I have determined the theme and color pallets. Currently my website is being developed – it will launch May 2007.

Aside from classic format paintings, I also work on tunics, scarves, and fashion accessories, home décor items – lamp shades, pillows, place mats, etc.

I use the Basic Stretcher System, the Setasilk Paints, and diffusants. Usually I use the Silk Satin 12mm 45”, Silk Charmeuse Scarves and the Silk Throw Pillow Covers – 18”. The techniques I combine mostly are Batik and silk painting; using different tools – tjantings, brushes, sponges and/or any object to bring texture to my works.
