Featured Artist : Jen Foreman | Twirlytoes Wearable Art, LLC.
My name is Jen Foreman and I have been a tie-dye artist since the age of 13. I learned how to dye from friends passing through the house I grew up in, and I have always had a deep passion for the art. When I became a mom, I took a break from making tie-dyes due to extreme lack of time and focus. Now that my kids are getting older and I have time to hear myself think, I've picked the dyes up again and have started a nice little business selling them online and at festivals. I buy all of my dye and supplies from Dharma. I use Procion Fiber Reactive dyes (they're the best), soda ash, artificial sinew, and Synthrapol for a pre-wash and wash out. I have a busy shop on Etsy, a handmade marketplace where you can see much of my work.
You can also find my fan page on Facebook where I sometimes have special deals and pre-Etsy sales.
To contact me directly you can send me an e-mail at twirlytoes@wildmail.com.
Dharma Fiber Reactive Procion Dyes
This is the #1 best dye we recommend for tie-dye, batik, dye-painting or screening, etc. on cotton, rayon, bamboo, Tencel®, linen and other natural fibers. Also for solid color dyeing and many other techniques!
Soda Ash Fixer
Soda Ash (Pure Dense Sodium Carbonate) is required to 'fix' or 'make permanent' Dharma Fiber Reactive Dyes. Available in 1, 5, 10, and 25 lb. sizes at discount prices.
Flat Sinew
Flat Sinew is a flat, waxed polyester thread that is waterproof, rot proof, resistant to stretch, and extremely strong. Use for tie-dye instead of rubber bands.
Synthrapol Detergent
Synthrapol is used as both a pre-wash and as an after-wash. A "must have" for dyers! New - low foam version is also available.
