Product Description

Follow along with master embroiderer Alison Holt as she takes you on a trip through her garden and along country lanes in the beautiful countryside of Shropshire, England.

In this 3+ hour DVD, Alison will show you how to create your own machine embroidered landscapes. Alison combines her love of nature with her unique flair for creating dramatic effects with her standard sewing machine. Simply by using STRAIGHT STITCH then ZIGZAG stitch, Alison shows you how to make Astilbes, Alliums, Delphiniums, Poppies, Cow Parsley, Roses, Daisies, and Foxgloves.

She explains how to work with iron fixed silk paints (like Dynaflow and Setasilk) to achieve depth and contrast, and combines all of the skills you learned in the first half of the DVD to create an incredible landscape, "Penylyn Lane" (dvd cover). Working with standard photographs and more than 30 colors of thread, Alison skillfully recreates Penylyn Lane in this beautiful and truly unique DVD.

Perfect for silk-painters who want to combine their love and skill in painting with embroidery for dramatic effects!

Very fast shipping was very appreciated!! The DVD was thorough and of great value to me to actually see the embroidery happening. I am still trying to adapt her technique to my machine however since her (older) machine had a manually adjustable dial to more easily control the stitch size (a key to her success) and mine does not.
