I got some wool roving to use for wet felting (Nuno felting) on silk chiffon scarves and it worked beautifully. It also dyed beautifully! It was a great deal too.

I bought a variety of roving to dye and absolutley loved them all with the exception of the Flax. The texture of the Flax wasn't what I expected it was more like "horse tail"... but I'm sure others who understand Flax would have had a different reaction. The other rovings I purchased were easily dyed with Dharma's fiber reactive dyes and work well for needle felting!

The wool was really soft and not compacted at all. Dyes and spins up wonderfully.

Lovely fiber. Would have liked to have known from what type of sheep this was from. I think it is merino but not sure would have liked to have known if it was top or not what grade of wool and the fiber length. These are just suggestions that you might want to add to the page. Other than those little things this is lovely fiber that takes dye very well.

Rove-18 the black dyed merino top would not felt. I think the batch I received must be superwash. I am an experienced felter. Dharma took it back with apologies. I've been very happy with all of the fibers for the most part.

This was the first roving I've ever purchased knowing nothing about the product. I only bought it because it was the least expensive. However it spins very well. I was able to divide it up into eighths. I'd say that the fibers are about six inches long which made drafting quite simple with very few breaks. Only downside is that it can have a slight wet dog smell when wet but who cares? So what! Very lovely roving.

Can't beat it's versatility especially for the price. We dyed it wet felted with it & spun it. Worked well for each task.
