wow-- night and day difference over here in my natural dye studio! I have been working with rayon for 2 years and have had the hardest time getting colors to absorb. There really isn't much info out there on anyone working with Rayon and natural dyes-- and what does exist is pretty conflicting-- I think I've tried just about every blog and books recipes and have had mediocre results. In regards to mordanting I was using Alum Sulfate and soda ash-- the Alum never absorbed and flaked off. I started using Alum acetate and it seemed maybe a little better-- but still yielded pale colors. THEN I got the cellulose scour and holy crap-- this crap is like an angel from heaven. I am now yielding almost the exact same range as wool and silk! Couldn't be happier!!
