Product Description
Use this liquid fixative instead of steaming to set your Jacquard Silk Colors. Can also be used with Sennelier Tinfix Design Colors. Will not provide the super saturated colors that you get with steam setting.

Add about an ounce (2-3 tablespoons) of Dyeset per quart of cold tap water. Prepare about 3 Quarts per 45" square of fabric. Immerse the fabric in the fixative bath and stir for about 5 minutes, then rinse fabric in container with liquid soap and running water.

It is important to wait 24 hours before applying this product. If you use a resist I would apply by brush only on the dye and not the resist and then rinse.

I love that there were no surprises when I used it. It worked as it said it would. Huge relief!

Usually I steam set my dyes. I decided to try this instead but to my dismay I found that over a short period of time the dyes faded tremendously. When I applied this fixative with a wide foam brush to a sarong I'd painted it left a trail of the edges of the brush even when I painted rapidly. The thing that is DOES work well for is fixing dyes on velvet scarves made of rayon and silk.

The colors bleed to the white part of the silk when fixativerise was done. Is there any way to stop this?

I found that some of the dye bleeds off when the silk is immersed and still bleeds when rinsed. I am a little disappointed by this product.

Product is so easy to use. When compared to steaming silk using Tinfix dyes color saturation is about 12 as was explained it would be. But how do you beat it for ease of use.

Whether you are doing one small scarf numerous small items or a large piece(if you have used the water based resist) - this is so easy to use. In a plastic bowl or your bathtub. Just like gentle hand washing delicates! No problems ever experienced with my sensitivity to chemicals. No skin irritation
