Take the fear out of dying. If you are doing small projects perhaps a couple of yards at one time and are new to dying this kit is for you.You should buy a good set of gloves that are at least up to mid arm. If you follow the directions in Ann Johnston's book (and you should get the kit with the book if you have never done this before) you are on your way. I was so comfortable after the first yard that I started mixing colors dying the fabric twice for different effects etc.One tip if you have one of the new low water front load washers two caps of the detergent is just right. I rinsed my fabric in hot water until just about clear water remained then did the wash with the detergent. No problems! My first fabric was the mercerized combed cotton broadcloth. WOW!

Wonderful kit! My only negative comment is that Ms. Johnson's book is not really easy to follow. I ended up going to the library and checking out some other books to use instead. I would recommend buying the kit without the book.

I don't like that the no single bag is zip seal as a matter of convenience but I do like that nearly everything was bagged or double bagged. A nice touch. The dyes work quite well & the recipe found here was pretty easy to follow. The dyes did their job fast but man the rinsing takes forever. I forgot about that over the years-whew! I totally like that everything is in one kit. A great size for testing.

I love this kit! I started with this kit and the book a little over a year ago. I have been making all of my own fabrics incorporating batik and selling bags quilts and fat quarters. I'm back putting a workshop kit together. The price can't be beat. I love Dharma!

Great to get started with... my only issue here is that the person who wrote the book doesn't use much turquoise (she prefers a different blue) and turquoise is the blue sent with the set.

woohoo! today is the first time I have dyed fabric. This kit was great. I had purchased several types of bags from Dharma and got them all done today. Total success. I even fooled around trying a few things. I am ordering more dye and bags and scarves.

I have wanted to try fabric dyeing for a long time and this set is an affordable way to get started! The book is easy to follow and makes good recommendations for equipment. I previously had no idea how to use the dyes and chemicals and with no hands-on class to help me learn this set got me going. I dyed several cotton and silk scarves on my first try and to my delight the process worked! I am now ready to experiment and buy more dye! Thank you!

This was my first experience with dyeing fabric. I thoroughly enjoyed your products. I have since received silk dupioni which has less texture than I expected but dyed well.
