This comes across as a regular broadcloth but with a tighter finish none of the soft fuzz that cotton broadcloth usually takes on after a few washings. It looks like a plain cotton broadcloth but with a very subtle sheen which is probably from the bamboo. It tends to wrinkle and hold wrinkles like cotton but takes firm creases (for example for pleats in skirts) and holds them better than cotton. The weave is stable and tight and I'm finding that it is a suitable substitute for more expensive fabrics like silesia for pocketing. It doesn't quite have the stretch resistance of coutil but when interfaced with a tight woven shirting interfacing it does quite nicely as the foundational layer in corsets (not for tight lacing of course - for that you need real coutil.) It's not bad as a next to the skin foundation fabric for tight structured clothing although if you have very sensitive skin you might want to go with something softer.

This fabric has beautiful hand and is wonderful for dyeing. It is difficult to find and Dharma is often out of stock so buy all you can when it is in.

I really appreciate the nice wide width of this material. It is almost like a cotton sateen but not as tightly woven and theres no sheen. I used it for natural dyeing and the fabric doesnt absorb the colors as evenly as silk (my go-to) or in a saturated manner but Ill still use all of the 15 yards for garments.

Thinner than I expected since you suggested that it could be used for jackets.
