Featured Artist : Jennifer Turturro

I am a fiber artist who love love loves wool (so much that I have sheep and a little farm). I needle felt, nuno felt, felt, spin, and drop spindle. I found my favorite medium in wool 6 years ago.  As an artist, I mix colors to create the end result. Generally I work in merino roving with wool from my own sheep, and dye it with Jacquard acid dyes to create felt sculptures, scarves of cashmere texture, and two-dimensional images in felt. My work requires physical movement, which is inspiring, but aesthetically, the beauty and composition of nature, texture, my farming experiences, my children's artwork, and a super-husband are great inspirations.
