Artist Bio / Statement
E&J’s Groovy Tuesdays Tie-Dye consists of me, Elisabeth, and my husband, Jason. We create handcrafted, exceptional quality tie-dye clothing and accessories. We truly love tie-dyeing and sharing our tie-dyes with the world. We are always seeking out new designs to create and perfecting designs we have been dyeing for years.
We started out tie-dyeing about six years ago in 2005. We bought a tie-dye kit for fun to see what we could do. We had a blast. Since then, we turned an awesome hobby into our business. We travel to various art shows and festivals throughout the year to share out tie-dyes. We also have an established website that tie-dye lovers can explore, as well as a shop on Etsy.com, which is a collective site for handcrafted items.
My favorite part of our art is seeing the happiness on our customers' faces when they fall in love or get blown away from our work. Jason’s favorite part of tie-dyeing is the mystery of the wash out. Every tie-dye is unique, so it is always fun seeing the finished product. Sometimes, I swear we act like little kids on Christmas, waiting to see our tie-dyes.
We invest a great deal of care and pride into each of our tie-dyes. All of our pieces are hand designed, tied, and dyed; which makes each a special, one-of-a-kind work of art. Quality is extremely important to us, which is why we use the highest quality dyes and materials to produce our one-of-a-kind tie-dyes. We are avid users of Dharma's fiber reactive dyes, sodium carbonate, sodium alginate thickener, rubber bands, flat sinew, dye bottles, and pretty much any other supply we may need. We love all of Dharma’s clothing, but their dresses in particular are one of our most popular items.
Tie-dyeing is our passion, our expression of art, our place in the world, and our craftsmanship. We Live to Dye…
