Featured Artist : Tammi Vaughan

I have created and loved art for as far back as I can remember, being upon my Mother's knee and admiring the giraffes and elephants imprinted upon my baby bottle. I began drawing and painting in oil by age eight. I have used every medium except watercolor. My interest in silk painting was sparked when a fellow artisan asked if I would care to discover this art form and create a few for myself. I told my friend that I would have to try and see if I could do it, and so I set off to work, researching the best approach to silk painting. This is when I found Dharma during my internet searching, and I came across the Jacquard silk dye starter kit (Green Label). I did my first painting, which is posted on my website, and I was hooked! I began painting scarves and gave them to friends and family for gifts, and now I successfully sell my scarves to the public.
