Product Description

Hard to find dyeable long johns! These are 100% rib knit cotton, not sewn with cotton thread. Cut really big to allow for shrinkage on first wash. 7 button front, 1 button rear flap (can be sewn closed to eliminate drafts).

A note about Union Suit sizing: This garment is designed to fit SNUGLY after washing and shrinking. Please look at the "Chest (will fit after wash)" measurements to see the size this garment will stretch to snugly fit after washing and shrinking. Union suits have and 8% shrinkage rate.

Great, dye really well, comfy, warm. My boyfriend is really tall so it's great that they run log - legs AND arms. I'm short but I don't mind the bunching either - we don't wear them under clothes, though. The gap below the bottom button on the front opens when you sit down but I'll just put a snap button there. No problems with the back flap (it's cute!). They're just so cool!!

I love the union suits, we dyed them last weekend and they look fantastic! However I never got my free scarf!

THE BAD: (1) The seams are NOT flat knit like those on historical union suits. As a result, you can get ridge marks on your skin in spots where the union suit is against your skin for any period of time, such as by your socks or waist line, etc. The suits would be much better if they had flat knit seams as historical union suits had. (2) CAUTION! Make sure you purchase only these which were assembled in Mexico of US components. I bought some of these a few years ago which were made in India and they were terrible! They were very thin and completly stretched out-of-shape no mater what you did with them. They were terrible! THE GOOD: These present ones (Mexico assembled) seem to be a reasonable thickness and hold their shape fairly well. I am pleased with them. They are the right weight for both low activity outdoors in cool to cold weather and yet are still comfortable wearing indoors. As such, they are a good choice for fall and spring underware. Too bad union suits have such a bad historic comedic nature tied to them as they are extremely comfortable and warm - for wearing as everyday underware. (Works good as sleepware as well).

Fantastic item,my daughter tie-dyed it for her boyfriend and now his friends want one too, this was her first time at dying and using Dharma dyes yet you would think she was an old hand at it when you see the finished item. The suit is on the long side so best not to buy for vertically challenged people.
