Cut oversized to allow for shrinkage. In other words, the dress will seem a bit large right out of the package - but that's before you wash, dye, and dry them. Then they'll shrink down to the correct size as indicated on the label. So buying a size 6 dress will initially look like a size 8 out of the package. Prewash it, dye it, wash again, dry it - it'll look like a size 6 when you're done.
