Product Description
Jacquard Clear Water Based Resist is one of our most economical resists. It is odorless, non-toxic, and washes out with warm water, even after steaming. Use with dyes or paints. Doesn't spread or pucker and can even be colored with water based dyes if they are steam-set. This resist can also be silk-screened onto fabric.

Back by popular demand: the original coffee-colored formula of this product. It completely washes out, and does NOT stain the fabric!

Made in: UNITED STATES (USA)

Resists well and comes out well when washed, but the resist spreads out a lot as it dries. I advise using the smallest tip applicator with this product for any detail.

Low toxicity, washes out easily. Be sure it it dry, and avoid getting paint on it - it does break down easily.

Exactly perfect for what I wanted to do, which was use a resist on cotton with sprayed fabric paint. This stuff is great . . . really easy to use, very consistent, terrific results.

I wish this product were able to hold a thin line. If it were thicker, would it "perch" onto the silk more readily? How, even with a tiny dispenser, can one make tiny lines?

I like this product as a replacement for gutta. It works well enough but I do miss the more precise lines that gutta gives. However, I find this resist worth the trade off of not having to deal with the toxic issues of gutta and the dry cleaning to remove it. I will continue to use this resist.

I absolutely LOVE this water resist. I tried something different. I used it with a paint brush to make rays of light emanate from the sun. It worked GREAT and the dyes around it didn't bleed and the art piece was brilliant! Client LOVED it. One thing that is really fun, is to paint your silk with a light color dyes (the whole thing), then after dry use water resist to dry a design. Let it dry for 24 hours. You can see the design easily. Then with darker dyes color in the lines and watch your silk come alive. When you dye fix the silk and then wash out excess dye the resist washes out and the base color shows through and all ya see is the fabulous designs. Iron to dry...and you got an amazing piece of wearable or wall art. I use Green Label Jacquard dyes and Jacquard Clear Water Based Resist.

I started silk painting about 4 years ago. The person who taught me gave me their bottle of Jacquard WBR and it worked soooo great, holding it's line, not spreading and as always clean and easy to remove. 1yr+later I bought a new bottle of the same kind and honestly it was crap! It did not hold the line like it used to, someone recommended freezing it which worked but as it warmed it got runny again. I heard someone else mention the 'old' Jacquard WBR and it seems like the product has changed and I cannot order it anymore due to the fact that it is sloppy looking because it spreads as dries. Other than that it does rinse and clean off nicely.

Doesn't resist as well as Presist, lacks the amber color of Presist, so sometimes difficult to see where it is.

I love this stuff, and use it a lot. I know that it's non-toxic, but the only thing I have found is that I (personally) need to use a mask, or just a bandana, maybe because of the scent? But that's easy, and I love it.
