This is an excellent starter kit for learning how to silk paint with real dyes instead of paints (like Dye-na-flow.) This is the set that I started with 6 years ago and I have stayed with Jacquard green label dyes for traditional silk painting. The instructions in this set are well written, the color mixing guide lends confidence to those who are new to mixing colors from primaries and the amount of dye is enough to allow for some trial and error as you learn. Highly recommended.

I am a beginner at Silk painting and just finished my first project. It turned out great and the colors were just lovely. I used the starter set and I think it is adequate for a beginner. You can create a lot of different colors by mixing the colors.

Like the dyes, dye set,gutta applucator and gutta. I didn't know what size the metal tip was and the paint brush was cheappppp. It lost hairs and then the whole tip fell off.

The resist spreads abd saturates the scarves quickly, so lots of practice to get a technique for working with it. The glue holding the brush head into the handle dissolved during the first scarf and had to be thrown away. Luckily, we had another. Suggest the color mixing chart have sample color blocks and be a waterproof paper to help beginners and youth use it without damage from drips.

This is a good starter set. The bruch came apart the first time I used it but the rest of the set is fine .

This kit openend the door to silk dyeing for me in a big, bold amazing way. The instructions and color mixing chart were/are very helpful. I didn't give five stars because I am stuck with a bottle of DyeSet that I don't want.

jacquard starter set is a good starting point.Never did silk painting before,this is my first time and it came out great.
