Made by one of France's three major dye makers.
Pebeo Silk Dye (Pebeo Soie) is used widely throughout the world by professional silk artists.
It is compared to Dupont and Tinfix Design silk dyes and also requires steam setting. You can use all three on the same piece as you wish.
It is the brilliant colors; all water soluble, highly concentrated, and mixable, that make this dye really exciting!
Pebeo Silk Dye (Pebeo Soie) are particularly good for salt effects. Their high concentration means they can be used pure or diluted, depending on the techniques. They spread easily and uniformly, producing large backgrounds in perfectly matched and deep colors.
- Cleannup: Just use soapy water on tools & brushes.
- Drying: Air dries in a few minutes.
- Fixing: Steamset for 3 hours in a silk steamer.
- Care: After fixing, the colors have excellent resistance to hand washing. No dry cleaning.
OTHER STUFF:
Pebeo Dilutant is used to dilute Pebeo Silk Colors to achieve a variety of color gradients without loss of consistency.
Pebeo Anti-Diffusant is applied to your fabric in thin layers before the application of the Soie colors to prevent the wicking of the dye across the fabric. Useful for design or calligraphy.
Pebeo Thickener is used to thicken dyes in order to paint without the use of gutta or resist. It is also very useful for sponging, stenciling, stamping and screen printing.
