The cone of silk thread was good quality and a great value. Silk thread is getting harder to find at local fabric stores and this cone will supply my needs for months to come. I use it for basting fine fabrics, beading and hand sewing.

Just what you want for hand or machine sewing fine silk.
Especially nice if you are dying your garment after sewing.
FYI, passing the cut end of silk thread lightly through beeswax is a better way to help thread it in your needle than wetting it in your mouth. Wetting the ends just untwists the ply, fraying it and making it impossible to go through.

The cones are a great buy if you need to garment dye your silks. I spool them to bobbins for use on my sewing machine. I sew silk for a living and only go thru a cone every 6 months. (Now I've upgraded to a serger.) This thread is super strong, almost lint free, (the bunching occasionally happens, but I just rethread) and has a nice sheen. Get it!

I am using this to hand stich hems before dyeing. Easy to sew with and takes dye exactly like silk fabric (no surprise there). Excellent quality. Really like this product.

Kept fraying in my sewing machine and then missing stitches. Not my favorite.

I have not had chance to use the thread as yet but I am extremely pleased with the price value for what I've gotten.

Sews very smoothly in my standard sewing machine. I wish there were more thread on the spool, though.

This silk thread is no shiney and silky because it is not filament thread but rather made up of shorter fibers. I did not care for it because I was looking for the feel of the filament silk thread.

Beautiful thread! I wish that black and other colors were available on cones, as well as white.
