Maybe we should say "DYE" since we actually only recommend one. For basic batik, our Dharma Fiber Reactive Dye is the easiest and best dye, and is especially recommended for cotton, rayon and other cellulose fibers. You need a dye that can be used in cool enough temperatures to not melt your wax, and since Fiber Reactive is used in lukewarm dye baths, or painted on at room temperatures, it fills the bill. It also gives you vastly superior color over dye you might buy at the supermarket. This is the dye that the pros use!
