Product Description

Made from of Bleached 7 oz. 100% Cotton Duck. Runner is hemmed, Placemats and Napkins are serged. These are great for kids projects, stamping, block printing, hand painting and stenciling, even transferred designs.  If you are going to dye them, you have to handle with care. Remember, cotton duck can fray if not handled gently, and the hems on the placemats and napkins are only serged. Wash on gentle cycles!

Dimensions before shrinkage:
Napkins: 15" x 15" (sets of 4)
Placemats: 12" x 18" (sets of 4)
Runner: 14" x 54" (each)

Both the placemats and napkins serged edges fall apart in the wash. For the placemats I needed to sew grosgrain ribbon around all edges and with the napkins I reserged them. This took lots of extra time and expense I wasn't prepared to spend getting ready for my show this weekend.

I was disappointed in the napkins - the surged corners were loose before dyeing, and after dyeing every single one of the sixteen napkins purchased came undone at the corners! They shrunk to 12.5" x 14.5". And the table runners were all a full two inches shorter than promised, before dyeing. (They should be called 52" runners, and not 54"). After dyeing, they shrank to 46" length x 13.5" wide. Don't get your hopes up on these items...I was expecting to give them as hostess gifts, but now I'm stuck with them.

I bought the runners and they're GREAT for tie-dying although I was dissapointged at the length of them - Dharma should make bigger ones as well. I was very happy with this product - please make some bigger sizes!!!

Material for napkins is too thick, and serged edges are not ideal. Dharma, will you please offer a cotton napkin with edges hemmed with all-cotton thread?

Napkins do not hold up to washing. After dyeing, before we even used them, the corners unraveled on the whole set of four.

It's true, as other reviewers said, that the serging doesn't hold up to repeated washing. I bought the placemats and painted them, and with gentle washing they are holding up ok. The placemats are made from two layers of fabric, serged together, so they are quite substantial.

the napkins were disappointingly small and roughly textured. I had planned to make them to give as christmas gifts but they are not nice enough.

Quality of edging less than great. I decided they would not survive the original plan I had for them so came up with something else.
