We had planned to have a wide selection of nylon flags and banners for this season but ran into grommet problems (and you think you've got problems!). So, for now, we're making 10"x15" flags with a sleeve along the 10" side for rope or pole hanging. They can be dyed with our acid dyes, painted like silk, printed on, markered on, transfered on, or whatevered on! Basically, if it's a flag that you're looking for to brighten your room, picnic area, party, or home, these babies are right up your alley!

So far I have only dyed these with acid dyes. They take the dye to full color only at a full boil. But when they take their color they only need a quick rinse with cold water and the color doesn't rinse out any more. Nice even dyeing. Sleeve is closed on the top. Not sure if I like that. Why 4 stars

quality on these is inconsistent at best, but I still buy hundreds of them every year, some take colors true & some have a bluish cast to them, for pennies it's not a problem, I acid dye, hot glue them to dowels & let the kids draw on them with sharpies

A great little flag. Easy to dye & mount. the sleeve is no longer closed on top.

Although they do not always take the dye color I have set out for (crimson becomes red-violet & other colors shift a little blue too) they are handy and durable. These dye only at a boiling temperature, so if you expect to play with the temp of your vat to lighten the shade, I wouldn't count on that. So a bit trickier than silk for me but still a great deal.

These are SUPER thin -- really translucent. That didn't work for my project.

The price was great, and they filled the need for the 22 flags I painted for my high school float. Painting on nylon with water based resist (Jacquard) was a bit tricky, as paint would bleed through resist unless you use an extra thick line of gutta -- and immediately hit with hair dryer to keep dye from spreading outside line.

I kettle dyed a few of these and let them dry wrinkly- that was a mistake! aside from that, a nice little flag. I am experimenting with these flags, learning how to use resist, learning what salt does, etc. so that I can paint the lovely scarves I also ordered and make them turn out nice.

For the price, quality is good. Fabric marker will run like the dickens on them when applying more than a thin line, but something like No-Flo might help with that (haven't tested that yet). Definitely fun to experiment with!
