We found this lovely 63% silk/37% wool blend fabric and we are having it made into hand hemmed scarves. 12.5mm makes it about the same weight as the 12mm Crepe de Chine and, with its diagonal weave, it drapes great as well! These can be dyed or painted with any product made for silk, like our Acid dyes below. They are warmer for winter than just plain silk, and quite soft for those who are normally irritated by itchy wool. A lot of men are wearing scarves now too, and the 11x60 or 14x72 sizes are perfect for them. With a bit looser weave and a wool blend like this, we recommend hand washing and line drying to cut down on shrinkage.

I ordered several of the wool/silk blend scarves. Threw them in a hot washing machine wash, dryer, and then dyed them with MX dye. Wonderful drape, weight, and quality. I enjoy the surface and will be ordering more of these for sure.

I thought it would be a closer weave so that I could paint on it, since the dyes I use for that work on both silk and wool...but I can't do fine detail work because the weave is so open....I will use it for some other process.

This is not my favorite fabric. I used it for a Shibori class and found that it just felt too rough for me.I thought that it felt rather like a synthetic, scratchy fabric. That being said, I asked a "work table" mate what she thought of this fabric ans she loved it - so I gave her my piece too. I think with this fabric you either seem to love it or dislike it.....I'll take all silk thank you. Oh! One thing though it really dies take dyes beautifully!! Rich deep colors with natural dyes - better than most other fabrics we tried....

Not crazy about them but has nothing to do with their quality....I just don't like their texture about paint with fiber reactive dyes....too hard.

Wonderful texture and dyes well. Not at all scratchy. I would not say that these would be good for men, however.

Puzzled as how to dye them at first but then tried dip dyeing with Procion H and or Jacquard's Green Silk colours wow !! Easy as pie and got marvellous results
