Our wooden tapestry hangers are carved for us by a Balinese craftsman in a local sustainable golden wood.
We decided to start with 4 designs, each in 3 sizes - 15", 22" & 30" (measured between bottom knobs). These sizes were chosen to fit many of our most popular pre-hemmed silk, rayon and scarf sizes, also you can use any of our fabrics to make your hangings. There are two knobs under the dowel which unscrew to allow your artwork to slip onto the dowel. So on a 22" hanger the widest hanging possible is 22". The overall width is about 6" more for all designs & sizes. Each comes with a simple matching colored dowel to put at the bottom of the hanging (not shown above), so your piece will hang straight down and remain more or less stationary (i.e. no flapping in the breeze).
These are really beautiful handmade hangers and worthy to display your best hanging artwork (or to sell to your customers to hang your artwork on that they just purchased). Since it's only one carver making these, and they are so well priced, the demand will most likely outstrip the supply. Get 'em when you can!

These hangers are not only attractive but they come with a seperate bar to weigh the bottom. It prevents the bottom of silk painting from blowing around and keeps cloth hanging straight. For those who quilt in batiks, the mood and the style is perfect.

I love the workmanship of this hanger, but it's not practical in terms of hanging the quilt. The bar is completely separate from the hanger so I had to construct loops to connect the bar to the hanger. Is there a way to redesign so the bar reconnects to the hanger-- hooks perhaps?

I have 2 silk banners I made and hung with these, as well as one antique Japanese textile piece. They all look fantastic. Very elegant, subdued and nice. Easy to hang, too (I use used sewing machine needles instead of nails to hang them). My MIL wants a banner, too, so I'll be buying more of these hangers!

These are beautiful and a great price! A lot classier than a dowel or bamboo thing. Dresses up my batik wall hangings to look elegant and expensive.

The wood is beautiful. I love the carvings. I was planning on hanging mounted Chinese Calligraphy on the hangers. I showed them to others in my class and they loved the idea.

These are fantastic! The carved wood is exquisite and a beautiful color. I ordered two of them for silk paintings-15" x 60". They will be hanging in the VagnHall Galleri, Prairie Arts Center, Bishop Hill, Illinois, as part of an art show.
