Metallic FabricMate Permanent Fabric Pens

Available in 7 beautiful metallic colors!

These markers use a thick, water based, dye/metallic pigment combination which soaks into the fabric and dyes the fibers, unlike traditional paint markers which 'paint' on top of the fabric. They work on both light and dark fabrics, and even write on jeans.

These beautiful markers are, sadly, being discontinued by the manufacturer.
Once they're gone, they're gone.

FabricMate markers are some of the most popular markers out there for textile purposes, and now are available in an opaque, metallic line. These markers use a thick, water based, dye/metallic pigment combination which soaks into the fabric and dyes the fibers, unlike traditional paint markers which 'paint' on top of the fabric. They work on both light and dark fabrics, and even write on jeans. A handy tip from a customer is that if they are hard to get "started", cap tightly and set upside down in a mug of hot water for a minute or so - works like a charm! Have a paper towel handy when you then take off the cap, just in case.
• Heat setting is recommended
• Shake well to "start" them
• Conforms to ASTM D 4236

These work really well. Smooth flow on the fabric. Washes well after heat setting too. Great colors. It does take more than 60 seconds of pressing the point down to start the flow of ink - sometimes. Worth the wait!

Great idea and good pigment, but had very little in it. I couldn't even finish the small projects I had planned for them. I'll probably get these again at some point, but only if I don't have or can't use an appropriate metallic acrylic paint.

I found these a little difficult to use. They didn't write very easily.

I ordered these for a coloring project on cotton fans. When I recieved them, I tried them out. Within about 3 to 5 pen strokes, the nib started breaking down. Since the ink/paint comes out by pumping the nib up and down, no ink came out. I tried about 4 of the pens and they all behaved the same way. My advice is to stay away from any type of pen with a "pump" action for releasing the ink. If I could give this product a zero rating I would. I sent the pens back and Dharma gave me a full refund. Thanks Dharma!

I was very disappointed with these. They bled and the color separated. I was unable to use them for my project. I tested them on several different fabrics (silk, cotton) and could not find a way to get around the problem.

Had to use that cup of hot water trick to get them going, but they were still a little dry and had serious flow problems. Probably not best to use them on a very low humidity day!
