Product Description
Here is an organic tee in kid’s sizes by Anvil that is bleached white with peroxide (an approved method for bleaching certified organic clothing). This makes it more attractive tie-dyed than a natural colored organic tee.
It is also pretty affordable as organics go! It is sewn with cotton thread too, of course. It is a lighter weight tee – 5 oz – and is made from pre-shrunk 100% organic cotton jersey. It has shoulder to shoulder taping, a slim seamless rib collarette (a bit smaller than on your typical tee crew neck), and double needle hemming on sleeves and bottom.

The main problem is that the anvil organic tees and the rabbit skins organic line must be washed first before batiking or dying the t-sirt. These 2 organic brands are the only garments that I have to wash before hand--and that is the talk in the batik and tiedye artisan circuit. Otherwise the dye sits on top of the shirt and will escape wax boundaries and bleed all over the shirt i.e. the red dye in a waxed sunset design looks safe until it's dyed and then it escapes the wax boundaries and shows up as red smudges all over the entire dye batch of clothing. However, if the shirt is pre-washed--this problem no longer exists.
