Product Description
The Big Fan.
It's big, it's beautiful, it's made from silk and bamboo. The silk is ready to be painted, stamped, or colored using any kind of paints, silk paints with resist, inks, markers, or pens. Note: immersion or other dyeing is not recommended as the fans don't hold up well when soaked in liquid or washed. Plain Bamboo frame spines are solid (no cutouts) with 15" closed length. Open it's approximately 15" x 28". Has a brass ring on the side of the handle for hanging tassels or ribbons from.

I bought this fan for a theatre production. I painted it with procion then used after-fix. I had a little trouble with the silk coming unglued from the sticks, but pressing it with a hot iron was enough to warm the glue and reattach the silk. The sticks warped a little, but the fan still opens and closes.

Pretty good fan, overall. Way too pricey, however. I'd be even happier if I could buy just the fan staves minus the silk covering. :)
