Product Description

These little cotton and rattan fans are perfect for projects of all kinds. They can be painted, stamped, drawn on with fabric markers, whatever. Note: immersion or other dyeing is not recommended as the fans don't hold up well when soaked in liquid or washed. Use your imagination and create wonderful useful art! Need fans for a school play? How about a birthday party project to create your own fan? Combine the fans with the #MASK's and have a whole masquerade ball theme. With prices like these you can outfit the whole neighborhood!

Now, please understand these are not the kind of fan you will hand down from mother to daughter for generations. It is unlikely that archaeologists of the future will discover one of these fans and remark upon its preservation and quality. Aliens will not abduct them as samples of fantastic human engineering. But if you need a fan or two for a 'quick and easy' project, this is the way to go. However, if you are looking for a higher caliber fan for resale, we suggest our silk fan which you can see here.

From one of our customers:

To make the fans for left hands. Run the cotton fan under hot water, or steam to steam off the fabric. Keep it open ½ circle then flip tines around and re-arrange the fan in the left hand. Use rice starch, sweet starch or wallpaper paste to reattach the fabric back on to the frame. Do not immerse these fans because they will fall apart. – The point is that they can be made for left hands easily and painted, stamped or dyed before re-attaching.

Exactly as promised-not the Creator's gift to fans-but exactly what I needed for the price I needed it to be!

Lightweight, very easy to dye. Also easy to remove the fabric & replace it after painting. you may need to take a fine sandpaper to the wood to remove the splinters.

I HAVE JUST FINISHED PAINTING ON MY FIRST OF THREE FANS. I ENJOYED DOING IT! I WISH YOU HAD 2 SMALLER SIZES TO MAKE A WALL GROUPING

Doesn't fold up well, but does raise a nice breeze, and hasn't broken yet (My fans take a lot of abuse; I've been known to break them on the second time carrying them. This one is holding up well). The loop at the base of the fan is sturdy and well attached, too, so it's possible to hang the fan by that without fear that the attachment point will be the weak link.

I haven't had the time to hand paint it yet but it looks great for the price.

These fans were very easy to dye, and read well on stage. We were happy with the quality. Great help by your customer service folks also.
