Product Description

These 100% Rayon scarves are woven by hand for us in Bali, Indonesia. They are woven with true PFD rayon yarn, and are soft and cozy, that perfect medium weight for many kinds of weather. They are a beautiful natural pale cream color and have a twisted (as opposed to 'loose') fringe, so they are much easier to deal with in the dye bath or when washing. Being cream color, they look good as is, and being rayon, they also dye like a champ. What makes these scarves special is their amazing soft 'hand', texture, and wonderful drape. You can get a good look at the subtle stripy textured gender neutral pattern in the closeup above. Give them a try - you will not be disappointed!

A gorgeously soft scarf with a beautiful sheen and a subtle woven pattern. Dyes wonderfully with Procion Fiber Reactive dyes. I used the low immersion technique from the book Tray Dyeing and it turned out spectacular, shows heavy texture and color. I cannot recommend these highly enough. Plus....the fringe stays twisted and doesn't need de-tangling after washing.

Some of my study group preferred the solid weave of these. Love the slight patterning!

As it is hand woven, the weave is looser, it takes the dye in a more subtile way. So the artist who dyes these needs to know this.

The scarves are really great except that half my order had flaws in it..big knots or random threads. i am going to have to return these. It is a shame. The ones I did dye take the dye so well, and are beautiful. But who wants a scarf with holes in it?

Rayon dyes well with natural dyes and is a beautiful fabric.

A very poor quality product. They were so thin and loosely woven that the fibers separated and it looked like they had holes. Also defects and snags. Not something I would waste time and money dyeing or try to resell to customers.

I didn't care for the looser weave of this scarf - but it dyed very nicely.

Maybe I got a bad batch, but there were so many slubs, loose bunchy threads hanging out and in general very poorly woven that even with exotic tie dyeing, I could not make them look good. After my experience with the fabulous silk scarves woven in China, these were a disappointment at best.

These are beautifully done and dye nicely. Kind of mellow with the off white undertone.

The first 4 of these scarves that I ordered and dyed were luscious! When I ordered a dozen more to dye as gifts I was greatly disappointed with the inconsistency of the quality. The weave was very loose, some of the fringes untwisted and one scarf took the dye in odd sections. I will order more, but I hope they are more consistent and as high a quality as the first ones I ordered.

Not as heavy as I had imagined from the description, but a very nice scarf nonetheless...
