Amazing fabric! Beautiful color, weight, drape, texture, very soft, great price. Sews beautifully. I just used it as a lining for handpainted silk jackets making them reversible. Will definitely buy this again.

It is raw silk. It is evenly black. What else is there to say :)

I prewashed with synthrapol and this faded considerably in the first wash. I may have to test the procion dye to get it back to a full black before I can use this...

it has a lovely feel and adds nice contrast in texture when mixing with other silks. but beware of the washing machine! it will discolor certain other fabrics. it also gets a stone washed look if you wash after quilting.

Some people might like this fabric, but I hated it and after washing it several times, seeing it look cheaper and cheaper with every wash, I stowed it in a box which I labeled "UGLY BLACK SILK BURLAP." Some people are into ugly fabrics
