Product Description

These Hi-Lo Drop Spindles offer the best of both whorls: a brass hook at the top for high-whorl spinning and a grooved shaft for low-whorl spinning. Three sizes offer a broad spectrum of spinning capabilities: 2" (1.1 ounces), 3" (2.2 ounces), and 4" (3 ounces). These Hi-Lo Spindles are made of hard maple.

Made in: UNITED STATES (USA)

I love these spindles! I bought my first one at Knitter's Connection, and bought my second one here, that's how much I like this spindle. I own 2 of the 2" whorl size. They really can be top or bottom whorl, depending on your preference. I can spin on both, but I prefer top whorl. They also hold a crap ton of yarn. I can easily get the 1.1 oz recommended, and if I wind my yarn carefully, I can get quite a bit more. I'd highly recommend this spindle again, and am considering purchasing another.

I love it! This is my first spindle. I got the middle size, I've been using it as a high whorl, and I am loving learning to spin :)

Spinning is either really easy, or this product is great. Never having spun before I wanted something versatile, and simple for the beginner. This was it. I've used this spindle for both methods (top whorl and bottom whorl). The top whorl method is better. Bottom whorl usually throws the spindle off and it goes out of control (but maybe I'm just doing it wrong). I'm no spinning expert, and only taught myself by watching youtube videos. Regardless of experience level, this is a very great product: smooth wood, well balanced.
