Beautiful little spindle! For reference to those familiar with coin tahkli this one is about 3" longer but about the same weight. It's very well balanced and easy to spin I like the larger hook as compared the the very narrow notch on most coin tahkli.

I usually struggle a bit to get a good lead going on my coin (I'm still fairly new to spinning) but within moments of sitting down with the pear I had a lead and several feet of cotton beyond that. Lovely!

If you are unfamiliar with using a supported spindle, like the tahkli, there are quite a few good videos available on YouTube. Also, Google "cotton spinning" for more good info.
