This stuff is a dream! Soft, breathable, dyes up beautifully -- plus, if it wrinkles, all you have to do is hang it in the bathroom while you shower and the wrinkles steam right out. I've used it for Ren Faire and other costuming projects, and it holds up quite well. The fabric does shed a little when washed the first few times, however, as bits of the nubby surface come off. DHarma is the cheapest place for high grade Silk noil I've seen. This fabric has a small shrink percentage,and drapes beautifully. When it comes to dying, Raw silk handles it well with hot or cold dying tecniquices. It's a very strong fabric that once sewen can't be pulled apart.(I've tried.) It handles washing and doesn't hang onto stains such as blood, pen ink,grease paints and food IF washed right away. Was this review helpful to you?
