I got WAY more than enough when I ordered one lb. You only use a tablespoon per vat dye color, I have a huge amount left.

Great product I'm sure it did its job the only problem is the packaged amounts...when you order the small bag of everything else you assume you should order the small amount of Urea but you use a lot more Urea (3/4 c) compared to Soda Ash (tsp.s) and Sodium Alginate Thickner so order the big one if you are doing many batches.

I wasn't sure I needed thickener but am so glad I got some. It works better than expected, and a little does go a long way. It is a great product!

I've never had colors come out so strong and vibrant. I'm fairly new at this and had great success my first try. I had no trouble at all getting the colors to blend. Just shake the bottle!

It seems to leave a yellowish hue around the edge of the tie dyed area which does not look attractive when using certain colors. Is it possible to use something else?

I'm unsure if I mixed this into my dye correctly, no instructions on the bottle. I think I read two different instructions on the website (I followed the dissolved into water method as opposed to the paste method). Some of my darker colors did spot the fabric, which is why I think I was supposed to use this chemical in the first place. 4 stars for no instructions!

I got this because this was my first dyeing project larger than a dozen or so items, and I hoped the urea would make it easier to mix up the large quantity of dye I would need (I used Procion dyes). The urea seemed to work for this purpose.

i was so overwhelmed hosting a party that i scratched the whole urea step. I may use it for my own jet black dye bath though.

It's urea, it's a humectant. . . good for tie-dyeing, maintains the moisture in the fabric to allow the reaction to continue even if you don't wrap or cover your tie dyes for batching.
