Product Description

Castaway is a truly unique stamp pad! We tested this on Procion Fiber Reactive dyed cotton fabrics with rubber stamps and really liked what we saw! After the image was heated with an iron, the color of the fabric is discharged and what was left was a nice pretty clean crisp image! Hardly any smell and very easy to use. Great for carrying around to classes and quilt guild meetings. You can create quick and easy "batik" like fabrics when needed on your hand dyed fabrics! Experiment to see the exciting results Castaway has on different dyed fabrics!

Perfect for:

  • Procion Dyed Fabrics
  • Card making
  • Journaling
  • Srapbooking

Directions:

  1. Stamp onto fabric.
  2. Let image absorb into fabric for about 5 minutes.
  3. Use dry ( or steam for stronger results) iron set a cotton temperature to heat image.

Notes:

  • Works best on fabrics dyes with Procion Fiber Reactive Dyes and colored papers that are dyed. Does not work on coated papers or papers that are colored with pigments.
  • Each fabric and paper is different: some results that look ghostly, others appear antiqued. Experiment and have fun! Fabrics can be washed afterwards and the image will remain.

What fun. Just be sure to use a foam stamp without little details. I used it on silk. Worked well.

I tried this on silk that I had previously painted and it worked great. You need a stamp with a large design and not little detail. Use a press cloth with the silk so it wouldn't burn. More possibilites!

pretty cool product. I ordered it to just try it out on fabric and the resulting image was very light - not in your face but noticeable. On paper the contrast was more noticeable on dark paper.

I was really surprised at how well this works and how easy to use too! I used foam stamps and rubber clear one on some fabrics I had that were dyes with the procion. Steaming the areas where I stamped gave the most intense color changes.

I work with fabric so it is a little harder to get a clear image. Works great on paper tho.
