Heidi Endres
I am a native Kentucky artist. I was trained traditionally in multimedia focused on printmaking, drawing and photography. I discovered the unique patterns and colors that can only be achieved through tie dye techniques.
My work includes apparel such as t-shirts, tank tops camisoles, blouses, pants, bags and tapestries as well as prints
My first inspiration was my mother, who was a fiber artist, and worked with many different colorful vibrant fabrics. She instilled in me an understanding of fabric, color and patterning. Through my own artwork, I found a love of the organic shapes and color in nature as well as the psychedelic artwork of the 1960s, which is evident throughout my artwork.
The products used to create my work are Dharma Fiber Reactive dyes, urea, soda ash, and sodium alginate.
