Featured Artist : Kassius Wilson

My name is Kassius and I am an abstract artist currently living in the Portland Oregon area.

I love to create and never struggle for inspiration since it's all around us. It's more difficult for me to NOT create. My art has been well received and that also brings me joy.

For 9 years I have been doing art & crafts with children from low income families. Many of them have difficult lives so I teach them to create as a coping mechanism; to put their feelings on paper, canvas or clay.

Art comforts. Art heals.

It delights me that many of the kids now want to be Artists when they grow up.

Since I do not charge any of the families for art supplies, the low prices at Dharma Trading Co. help me make ends meet so that I can continue to give.

It is my hope to soon move to the country and have a large place to create while being surrounded by nature and give free classes to more kids and adults.

I love the Jacquard powders and I mix them to make bright paints. Any of the dyes carried by Dharma Trading also make for excellent art supplies. I use the water brushes especially when I travel. They don't leak and allow me to create on the go.
