Anna Verkhovskaya
SilkArtCloset

I have been painting for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Ekaterinburg, Russia, I was always drawn to art, filling my time with drawing and experimenting with watercolor, acrylic, and pencil. Creating art felt natural to me - it was my way of understanding the world and expressing what I couldn’t always put into words.
I earned my Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics in Russia, but even then, art remained my true place of comfort and creativity, always present in my life.
Shortly after, I moved to California, and that became a new chapter in my journey. It was there that I began to fully immerse myself in silk painting. Over time, silk became more than just a medium - it became my passion. I was drawn to the way color flows on silk, moving freely to create something both delicate and vibrant.
For more than 20 years, I have been dedicated to painting on silk. Today, I am the founder and owner of SilkArtCloset, where I create hand-painted wearable art and unique silk pieces. Each piece carries a part of my story, my emotions, and my love for color and texture.
I have shared my work through exhibitions and art fairs across the United States and Europe, and I deeply value the connection art creates between people. I also enjoy teaching and leading workshops, encouraging others to explore their creativity and discover the beauty of silk painting for themselves.
