Adrianne Hetherington

My background is in textile design. I have an Associates Degree in Art, which I received from Miami-Dade College in 1971. I was employed by Serbin Fashions from 1971 to 1977 as a textile designer for their fashions. (similarly to Lilly Pulitzer) I left Serbin Fashions in 1977 to give birth to my daughter and continue as a freelance artist. I formed my own company, HandPainted Originals, in 1978. I developed a hand painted fabric line for the design trade in Miami, FL. I hand painted fabrics for drapery, upholstery, and pillows. My fabrics eventually were on display in showrooms from Miami to Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago. I retired my company in 1992. I have now come full circle and back to painting fabrics once again in addition to my mixed media/collage. I am a member of the Wellington Art Society, which I recently participated in during our 6th Annual Fall Fling Fine Art Festival.

I am inspired by the colors and shapes of nature.

Dharma products I use: Habotai 8mm scarves and 10mm silk neckties, Handwoven cotton scarves (style #1), Jacquard silk colors and Jacquard Dyeset fixative concentrate, Gutta Solvents, Wonder Markers (blue), Setacolor Fabric Paint-Op/Pearl.
