My inspiration for tie-dyeing came when I saw a sweatshirt a friend had dyed, and I had dreams of creating all these really groovy clothes... I had experimented with tie-dyeing in the past, but never knew it was possible to achieve the bright wonderful colors that I do with Dharma dyes. These photos are of my first projects using Dharma dyes. The Dharma website also provides useful information on how to tie-dye to achieve professional and very cool results. I am 100% satisfied customer and you gotta love the bio-degradable potato starch packing peanuts!

I was born an artist, graduating from Niagara College with a diploma in art and design in the 1990s. Most of my career is with pottery, as I work in a pottery studio and operate my own business, Cosmic Pottery. I specialize in Sun and Moon plaques and Grateful Dead dishware, but I create whatever I am inspired by. I love color and anything funky!

Being thrifty and creative, I usually pick up blank clothing at second hand stores. Used sheets make great canvasses for experimentation, and if it doesn't turn out fabulous, it doesn't break the bank. I've even turned one into a very groovy tablecloth! I like combining fabric painting with wax resist or batik along with tie-dyeing or a dye bath. My kids love their new one-of-a-kind shirts!
