I am inspired by keeping my eyes, mind, and heart open. My first dye project was The One Who Walked Away--with the bubble and odd castle. I began dripping the dyes in a way that would run together but not so much to muddle it. Some muddling did happen and that turned into the blobby castle. It made me remember a story and the painting took off from there. Whether I'm making a quilt, clothing, dolls, or whatever else, there is usually dye, paint, beads, and threads of all kinds involved.

SkyGirls are inspired by dreams. I used to dream of these characters who were in danger and I was trying to save them. When I started to illustrate them, the dreams stopped. Then I had to make a doll. Now I sell them and also make custom dolls. I call them SkyGirls. Mainly because they are free do be and do anything they want to. The *sky's * the limit I guess. I use dyed commercial or batiked fabric for the dresses, I dye the skin and paint the legs and face. The clothes and dolls are my own original design. I even make the stand!
