My wife, Peggy, and I first started making tie-dyes for sale in 1987. I was hard to find a source for white clothing that was reasonably priced. Then we found out about Dharma Trading as a dye source, and discovered that they not only have a selection of reasonably priced whites, but they also have a seemingly endless selection of interesting items for dyeing.

We spent a few years selling at craft shows and the like, then we opened a store in our home town of Guerneville, California. We started selling on the web in 1995, and have done so well that I couldn't keep up production for both. So in January 2000, we closed our store and now sell only on the web. It's been a long, fun ride with lots of changes, and Dharma Trading Company has been there for us all the way!
