Cara Walton

I am a high school social studies teacher in Harrisonburg, VA.

I am 30 years old and have been doing tie-dye for about 5 years now. I got started when my husband wanted a tie-dye costume for a production of Shakespeare's The Tempest that he was directing. I tried Rit for that production with poor results; then, I discovered Dharma. The following year, I tie-dyed costumes for another production of my husband's: Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. We had all tie-dyed fairies in that production; it was fun.

I do tie-dye, batik, and combinations of the two. I use Dharma's fiber reactive dye, batik wax, and dye chemicals. I also order most of my clothing blanks from Dharma.
