Carol Ann Ketchledge

Carol Ann Ketchledge expresses herself in all graphic media, but especially in hand dyed silks.
Natural images, realistic landscapes, and abstract patterns are the primary subjects of the her silk art. In addition to her dyed paintings/wall hangings created on silk, Carol Ann Ketchledge also creates richly colored fabric, which she transforms into wearable art in the form of cloaks, shawls, scarves, pillows, purses, vests, and even jewelry!
A long ago BFA graduate of Syracuse University, she lived and worked in Hawaii for 25 years, and currently lives in Gig Harbor Washington. Dharma products, so conveniently available from the catalog and now via online ordering, allow her to have wonderfully easy access to any of her silk dyeing needs, no matter where she lives! Carol Ann Ketchledge works on a variety of silk fabrics (raw silk, charmeuse, and habotai) and beautifully hemmed scarves, uses procion dyes, and resists (especially the Sennelier Aqua Guttas and Cerulean Blue's Presist). Excellent prices and speedy delivery are another aspect of Dharma Trading Company's fine service truly enjoyed by her... and her students!
Every September the artist welcomes the public to her home studio during the Gig Harbor-Key Peninsula Open Studio Tour event. As her life and passion for art demonstrates, this artist lives by her statement, "To see each day as an adventure, to discover and explore each creative opportunity, is to be truly and joyfully alive."
