Cassi Selby

I am Cassi Selby from One Great Thing, and I am a full time tie-dye artist (which also comes with other titles like designer, CEO, model, receptionist, accountant, artist, scientist, and innovator!)

I have been told that I have an "artist brain" - when most people look at the world they see every day objects; I see things as color and fashion inspiration. If you show me your favorite color of candle, I can tell you how to make it into a dye color and what would go great with it - and turn it into a unique article of clothing that represents your personal fashion sense and style!

My view on fashion is that what you wear should be a reflection of you and your personality. True fashionistas and trend setters have to be brave because they can't be afraid to wear what they love. Of course, this results in starting new trends, which is really fun and rewarding.

What started out as a fun hobby for me 7 years ago flourished and turned into a full time "career," although - I will admit that I never view this as a job because I love what I do! With over 40,000 garments made and sold (to customers all over the world), my husband was able to quit his full time "corporate management" job (that made him miserable) in 2011, to help me with the business and pursue his love for photography. We have a lot of fun working together from home and brainstorming up new ideas. Working from home also gives us time to volunteer at my son's school, fundraise for Relay for Life, or just take a random vacation as a family because we need one :)

As Walt Disney said, "It's kind of fun to do the impossible." If you have a dream, follow it. There is no reason you can't pursue what makes you happy. With hard work and determination, you can achieve your goals, and love what you do :)
