I have been making art since I was a child, but I am currently an interior designer who has recently rekindled a long-standing interest in silk painting. I first learned the French Serti technique of silk painting in a fabric design course at Virginia Commonwealth University. It was then that I first discovered the wonderful resource of Dharma Trading Co.
I use satin and habotai scarves of various sizes, Dharma's own Procion Fiber Reactive dyes for custom colors, and also Jacquard water-based resist, to create small-scale works of art for the home and body.
