Cynthia Joy Malenshek
I am retired from the nursing profession, and my husband and I moved to Arkansas about six years ago. We built a lovely home in the Ozark Mountains, and have a beautiful view of Lake Norfolk. We enjoy fishing, and we have a pontoon boat. I, of course, love to paint. I am active in our area's art club. I am on the board and and am coordinator of our annual art show. I studied some commercial art at the Art Institute of Chicago, but I am mostly self-taught. I paint on canvas and enjoy entering the various local art shows. I even have some blue ribbons.
The items shown are hand painted scarfs. Each one is 100% silk and hand painted with Dye-Na-Flow silk colors by Jacquard. I also use Jacquard Waterbased Resist. I have been painting on silk for two years. Besides the scarfs, I also paint small 15" pillow covers.
