David Kelly
I am a fine arts artist primarily trained in watercolor, self-taught until being accepted to study at the William & Mary Royal College of Art, London, England, in 1984. I have been in numerous shows and have won awards in California and throughout the U.S. I taught myself to paint on silk while living in Kauai, Hawaii. I hand paint neck-ties using using both Dye-Na-Flow and Setasilk, hand painting with brushes using the method of Veneer, in layers. Up to 40 Glazes of paint or dye are applied by brush, which dry between layerings. Many were reproduced and sold throughout the US at zoos, aquariums, and arboretums.
Owners include Harrison Ford, Al Gore, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Ben Cayatano (former Governor of Hawaii), as well as many other notable people.
